The
Gulf Region Health Outreach Program (GRHOP)
, which was created as part of the
Deepwater Horizon
Medical Benefits Class Action Settlement
, is a series of integrated, five-year projects designed to strengthen healthcare in Gulf Coast communities in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. The GRHOP is comprised of four projects: the
Primary Care Capacity Project
, the
Mental and Behavioral Health Capacity Project
, the
Environmental Health Capacity and Literacy Project
, and the
Community Health Workers Training Project
. The GRHOP also incorporates a
Community Involvement
project that oversees community outreach and works in cooperation with project leaders to coordinate community involvement within and across all GRHOP projects.
